Non-Rising Spindle Gate Valves (NRS) (Buschle Valves) are the type of valves generally used in underground installations in fire extinguishing systems. These valves are designed to control and direct water flow in underground fire pipes. However, unlike rising stem gate valves, the slides of Volon NRS valves do not move upwards under water pressure and the position of the valve cannot be monitored without an additional post indicator. This feature lacks the "rising" (R) feature, which means "to rise". UL Listed and FM Approved non-rising stem gate valves are valves designed and tested in accordance with internationally accepted safety standards. The importance of NRS valves is based on several reasons: Simple and Reliable Design: Volon NRS valves have a simple but effective design. They work reliably to control the flow of water in fire suppression systems. Since the slider does not rise, they do not require vertical movement, making installation and maintenance easier. Low Maintenance Requirement: As with rising stem gate valves, slides of Volon NRS valves do not rise under fire pressure. This ensures that the valve remains open at any time, so it does not need to be operated or maintained regularly. Low maintenance reduces operating costs and increases system reliability. Reliability Against Fire: Flywheel NRS valves play a critical role in firefighting by quickly providing water flow in case of fire. These valves increase the reliability of fire extinguishing systems and help control fire. Failure to raise the slide prevents the valve from closing unexpectedly, which ensures the continuity of the flow of water in the system. Fire Safety Compliance: Flywheel NRS valves are generally designed and tested to comply with fire safety standards. Compliance with these standards ensures that valves operate reliably in fire situations and reduce the risk of fire.
